NTT Communications wins 3 categories at Telecom Asia Awards 2015

TOKYO, JAPAN -- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT (NYSE: NTT) Group, announced today that it has won the categories of Best International Wholesale Carrier, Best Data Center Services Provider and Best Cloud Based Service in the 2015 Telecom Asia Awards, during a gala ceremony in Jakarta on May 20.

Now in its 18th year, the awards are the region’s longest-running and most prestigious telecom industry awards. They reward innovative and outstanding performance by Asian service providers and industry executives. The winners were chosen by a panel of 13 independent judges. Awards were presented in 16 categories.

NTT Com received Best Cloud-Based Service for the 3rd consecutive year. The award recognises the outstanding performance, high user evaluation and advanced technology of NTT Com’s cloud enabled Network Services. "NTT Com impressed the judges by being the first to commercialize SDN/NFV-enabled cloud services on a global scale, allowing enterprises to activate their own services and pay on a per-use basis, years ahead of other players in the field," says group editor Joseph Waring. By combining SDN and NFV technology, NTT Com enhances flexible, virtualised, on-demand WAN capabilities for enterprises.

Best Data Center Services Provider is awarded for Service Providers providing best in class data center services, covering data center services for both in-house and third-party users. Under a service brand of “Nexcenter”, NTT Com launched three Data Centers in APAC in 2014 including Bangalore, Cyberjaya and Shanghai. “With its strong presence in Asia-Pacific, as well as service innovation and impressive customer service, NTT Com has displayed its ability to provide serious competition to other third-party regional and global data center service providers.”, according to judging panel.

NTT Com was also named Best International Wholesale Carrier for the second time since 2011. NTT Com’s Tier-1 Global IP Network, which serves over 1,000 customers worldwide, has retained its position as Asia’s top wholesaler in terms of total network prefixes, according to Internet intelligence provider Dyn Research (formerly Renesys).
